Church to host lawn festival Saturday
CANFIELD
Calla Community Church, 6482 W. Calla Road, will host its annual Lawn Festival at 4:30 p.m. Saturday. There will be sloppy joes, hot dogs, pulled pork sandwiches, salads, baked beans and pies and cakes.
Cost is a free-will donation. Proceeds will benefit local mission work. Raffle tickets are available for $1 each or $5 for six tickets. The event will take place rain or shine, and a craft store also will be open.
Retirees and widows will meet Thursday

The Police and Fire Retirees and Widows, Chapter 10, will meet for a summer picnic at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Austintown Senior Center, 112 Westchester Drive, door 108. Meats, drinks, plates and silverware will be provided.

Boardman Park will host Family Night in the Park from 6 to 10 p.m. July 20 at the Maag Outdoor Theatre.
There will be children’s bouncers, activities and Jock-O the balloon man; a band; showing of movie “The Grinch” and concessions. The event is free.

The first joint exhibit of the Mahoning Valley and Trumbull County Historical Societies, “On the Banks of the Mahoning: How the River Shaped the Valley,” is available now through Sept. 15 at the Tyler History Center, 325 W. Federal St., downtown.
