First Friday Club of Greater Youngstown will welcome the Rev. Stephen Popovich at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Avion on the Water Banquet Center, 2177 W. Western Reserve Road, Canfield. The Rev. Mr. Popovich, retired pastor of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, New Middletown, will speak on “Science and Religion.” There will be an opportunity for questions after the presentation. Trumbull County Travel Club has the following trips planned: Aug. 14, the oddities of the Canton area; Sept. 9-17, vacation to South Dakota; and a Nov. 2 outing for a gingerbread tour in Pennsylvania. Youngstown Area PFLAG will have its monthly support meeting from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave., Youngstown, in the parish room behind the church. Youngstown Area PFLAG (Parents, Families, Friends, and Allies) is a support, education and advocacy group united with LGBT people to move equality forward. Support meetings are the second Tuesday of each month. PFLAG provides the opportunity for dialogue about sexual orientation and gender identity and strives to create a society respectful of human diversity. Meetings are free and confidential.
