Fireworks and party downtown

YOUNGSTOWN

The city’s annual fireworks display will take place tonight at 9:30 p.m. from the Covelli Centre parking lot. The event is rain or shine.

Front Street will be closed to vehicular traffic.

The surface parking lots on the street will be open, and all bridges into downtown will be open.

Preceding the fireworks Thursday will be a festival on East Federal Street, featuring live music, food vendors, a kids zone and a car show. It will run from noon to 9 p.m.

On Friday, a Party on the Plaza will take place from 2 to 8 p.m. on North Phelps Street, which will be closed to vehicular traffic. The event will feature music by Hoss and the Juggernauts and Old Skool.
