Woman, 3 kids killed in house fire

Authorities said a woman and her three children were found dead inside an Ohio home that caught fire while temperatures hovered near zero.

The Akron Fire Department said firefighters responded to the blaze about 9 a.m. Wednesday. A department spokeswoman said firefighters attempted to get inside the home to rescue people but could not because of flames that had engulfed the structure.

The Akron Beacon Journal reported that a man managed to escape. The bodies of the woman and children were found in different parts of the home.
