YSU’s Zallow, Elliott receive HL honors

YOUNGSTOWN

Youngstown State’s Chad Zallow and Jaliyah Elliott were named the Horizon League Runners of the Week for their performances at the Penn State National Open, the league announced on Tuesday.

After posting the fastest times in the prelims and semi-finals at the Penn State National Open, Chad Zallow turned in his quickest time of the season with a 7.66 second performance in the finals of the 60m hurdles. It marks the third week in a row that Zallow has received the weekly award.

Sophomore Jaliyah Elliott set a school record in the semi-finals of the 60m dash with a 7.33.

YSU will return to the track Friday and Saturday when they host the YSU National Mid-Major Invitational at the WATTS.
