NovaCare Rehabilitation announced local physical therapist Denny Bilas, has joined its outpatient center, 1301 Boardman-Poland Road, Suite H. With the addition of Bilas, the center is able to further enhance its musculoskeletal health service offering.

Bilas has more than 35 years of experience in orthopedic physical therapy. He earned a bachelor’s degree in 1982 from Ohio State University and began treating patients at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital and the former Northside Regional Medical Center, respectively, before moving into the outpatient setting.

Bilas has spent the majority of his career treating orthopedic conditions and has a special interest in biomechanical disorders of the spines.

Free fitness classes in Mahoning, Trumbull

Free fitness classes, provided by the Mercy Health Foundation Mahoning Valley, are offered Monday through Saturday throughout this year through its Stepping Out Program at several locations in Mahoning and Trumbull counties at no cost to residents 18 and older.

Classes include aerobics, chair aerobics, line dancing, Zumba, core-strength training, fitness walking and kettle bell workouts.

In Mahoning County, classes are conducted at McGuffey Centre, E.B. Family Life Center, Eugenia Atkinson Recreation Center, Grace Community Vision Center, Greater Mill Creek Community Center, Roosevelt Park, Heart Reach Neighborhood Ministries, OCCHA, Taft Elementary School, and the Center for Community Empowerment.

In Trumbull County, classes are at Grace AME Church in Warren, Niles Wellness Center and Trumbull Family Fitness. Call 330-720-3293 for class schedules or to register.

Doctor receives treatment certification

BOARDMAN

Dr. Murphy Crum of Advanced Chiropractic & Rehab and Parkside Chiropractic & Rehab, has completed postgraduate education certifying him to perform Trigger Point Dry Needling, a treatment used to treat muscular tension and spasm which commonly arise from injuries, joint dysfunction or chronic conditions like arthritis and disc disease.
