LaBrae’s Al Lopez dies; was OHSAA official

Services will be on Friday for Al Lopez, retired superintendent of LaBrae schools and a former member of the Ohio High School Athletic Association.

Lopez, who died on Wednesday, served the OHSAA as a district athletic board member, a state board member and as Northeast board treasurer.

Calling hours will be Thursday at Peter Rossi Memorial Chapel, 1874 North Road NE.

The funeral will be on Friday at 11 a.m. at St. John Paul II Parish, 420 North St., with calling hours from 10-11 a.m. Burial will be at All Souls Cemetery.

Following the burial, lunch will be served at 1:30 p.m. at Roby Lee’s Restaurant,425 Ridge Road, Newton Falls.
