No. 12 Texas 78, Texas Tech 71

Jatarie White scored four straight points and Sug Sutton hit a go-ahead jumper to start a 14-4 surge in the final quarter as No. 12 Texas rallied past Texas Tech. The Lady Raiders, who had not beaten Texas in 10 meetings, banged home an astonishing seven of 10 3-point shots in the first quarter, a school record, putting Texas in a 27-16 hole. Danni Williams scored 16 points and had four assists to lead Texas (17-3, 7-1). White finished with 12 points before fouling out late. Sutton scored 12 with six rebounds and five assists and Destiny Littleton added 11 points and five boards.

No. 18 Gonzaga 78, Santa Clara 61

SPOKANE, WASH.

Jill Townsend scored 14 points on 4-of-6 shooting from 3-point range and Chandler Smith had a double-double to help No. 18 Gonzaga pull away from Santa Clara. Zykera Rice led the Bulldogs (19-2, 8-1 West Coast Conference), who have won five-straight, with 18 points. Her game typified the day for Gonzaga as Rice went 5 of 16 from the field and 8 of 9 from the foul line. Smith had 12 points, 10 rebounds and five assists. The Zags, who shot better than 55 percent their previous two games, shot less than 40 percent in this one. But making 9 of 18 in the fourth quarter, they pulled away. Prior to the last quarter Gonzaga was 21 of 23 from the foul line.

No. 20 Iowa State 84, Oklahoma State 71

STILLWATER, OKLA.

Kristin Scott made all 11 shots, including seven 3-pointers, and both free throws for a career-high 31 points, and grabbed 12 rebounds on Saturday to lead No. 20 Iowa State to a win over Oklahoma State.

Scott, the first ISU player to go 11 for 11, opened the game with a 3-pointer and added two more as the Cyclones (15-5, 5-3 Big 12 Conference) opened an 11-0 lead. Iowa State closed out the first quarter by turning a 7-0 spurt into a 19-4 run for a 32-9 lead. The Cyclones were 12 of 16 with four 3s in the first quarter while the Cowgirls were 3 of 21. Then ISU hit its first three shots of the second quarter to make it 39-9. It was 47-20 at the half after Scott hit a buzzer-beating 3-pointer, already her career-best fifth 3-pointer for 19 points in the half.
