Devin Morgan scored all of 17 points in the second half and Naz Bohannon posted a double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds, but the Youngstown State men’s basketball team fell to Cleveland State 72-62 on Saturday night.

Donel Cathcart III scored 10 points for the Penguins (6-16, 2-7 Horizon League).

The Vikings (6-16, 1-8) used an early 10-2 run in the first half and closed the session on a 12-2 run to build 17-point halftime advantage, 37-20.

CSU scored the first seven points of the second half to boost tits lead to 44-20, with 17:34 to play.

The Penguins went on a 14-0 run trim the deficit to 10, 44-34, capped by a 3-pointer by Morgan with 13 minutes left.

YSU got as close as eight points, 67-59, with 1:34 left after a 3-pointer by Morgan.

Rashad Williams scored 20 points, including 6 of 8 3-pointers, as CSU picked up its first Horizon League win of the season.

Tyree Appleby and Jaalam Hill scored 16 points each for the Vikings.

YSU begins a Michigan road swing at Oakland at 7 p.m. on Thursday in Rochester. The Penguins visit Detroit Mercy at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
