Tickets on sale soon for ‘Lion King’ play

Tickets for the live stage version of Disney’s “The Lion King” go on sale Feb. 11.

Based on the 1994 classic animated musical, the play won six Tony Awards, including Best Musical, since it first opened in 1997.

The play is currently the third longest-running play in Broadway’s history and the highest grossing.

This limited run, four-week engagement comes to the KeyBank State Theatre stage Aug. 7 through Sept. 1.

Tickets will be available at playhousesquare.org, at the Playhouse Square ticket office (1519 Euclid Ave.) or by phone at 216-241-6000.

VIP ticket packages, which include a prime seat location, a commemorative souvenir program and an exclusive merchandise item, are also available. Groups of 10 or more may reserve seating by calling 216-640-8600.
