Trial starts for man accused of firing at Youngstown officers

Opening statements have begun today in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court for a man police say was wounded after he fired at two city police officers on the South Side last January.

Gerald Wainwright, 26, faces two counts of felonious assault on a police officer.

Judge Maureen Sweeney is hearing the case.
