Library trustees plan annual meeting

The Board of Trustees of the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County will host its annual meeting at 4 p.m. Thursday in the meeting room of the Newport Library, 3730 Market St. The building and sites committee will meet prior to the annual meeting at 2:30 also in the Newport Library meeting room. The purpose of this committee meeting is to discuss the process that will be used to select the architect for the main library renovation project. The nominating committee will then meet at 3:30 p.m. This meeting is to review and discuss nominees to fill the vacant board seat.

Roundtable meeting set for Thursday

NOAS seeks foster parents

Northeast Ohio Adoption Services invites Ohio couples or singles to register for free adoption/foster care pre-placement education classes. NOAS is offering a February class series which will allow participants to complete all 36 hours of required training. Classes begin Feb. 20. Those who have been considering becoming a foster or adoptive parent, adults over 21, can find out more about Ohio children and teens served by the child welfare system who are waiting for a permanent home. The sign-up deadline is Feb. 18. If a participant can’t attend a certain session, make up opportunities are available. Library accepting registration

COLUMBIANA

The Columbiana Public Library is now registering for the winter sessions of Toddlertime and Storytime. Toddlertime is a lap-sit program and will take place Thursday mornings from 10 to 10:30 or 11-11:30 a.m. for toddlers age 18-36 months and their caregivers. Storytime will take place Wednesday mornings from 10 to 10:45 or Thursday afternoons from 1 to 1:45 for kids age 3 to 5. Sessions run Feb. 6 to April 25 and include age- appropriate stories, finger plays, crafts.

Students invited to pizza party

YOUNGSTOWN

Ursuline High School is inviting all sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade students to a pizza party that will take place from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Feb. 1 in the school cafeteria before the Ursuline versus Mooney boys’ basketball game.

There is no cost to attend. To register, visit ursuline.com/calendar and select Feb. 1. Students are reminded to bring their season pass for free admission to the game. A reserved section will be available for pizza party guests.

Group to host brunch

The Youngstown Chapter of The Links Inc. will host its Black Diamond Leadership Brunch at 10 a.m. Feb. 23 at the Embassy Banquet Center, 5030 Youngstown-Poland Road. The brunch will honor the accomplishments of African American male leaders in the Mahoning Valley.
