Mill Creek Park celebrated the holiday season with a holiday centerpiece making event on Dec. 18.

Community members gathered at Fellows Riverside Garden to create a garden fresh, holiday themed craft run by Marie Borocz. Borocz, an educator at Mill Creek Park and the owner of Home Stead Florist in Girard, said that it was a fun way to get into the holiday spirit.

The park provided fresh pine, greens, carnations, mums and more for community members to use to create their center pieces.

“We use a lot of fresh flowers that aren’t going to go bad quickly, to have a fresh spelling holiday decoration this year,” Borocz said.

The park provided vases for all members to take their art home with.

Borocz said she has been working at the park, creating art classes like this, since 1998.

“I really love what working here and getting to do these classes,” Borocz said.
