BRISTOLVILLE

Gage Elza broke Bristol’s single-game scoring record with 49 points in just three quarters as the Panthers (9-2, 6-0 Northeastern Athletic Conference) rolled to another victory. The previous record of 48 points was set by Larry Armstrong during the 1966-67 season. Elza also broke Bristol’s home single-game scoring of 43 points, set by Chad Oliver in 2013. Oliver was the 2013 Trumbull County Player of the year. Elza also broke his own record for points in a quarter with 20 in the second quarter. He had previously scored 19 in the fourth quarter against Liberty on Dec. 29. Elza also had six rebounds and four assists. Matt Church added 18 points and a team-high eight rebounds for the Panthers. Damion Durst led Bristol with six assists and three steals. Hunter Bates led Maplewood with 13 points.

Mentor Lake Catholic 85, Ursuline 83, 2OT

YOUNGSTOWN

R.J. Clark powered the Irish (6-8) with 36 points, Daysean Harris had 13 and Jakylen Irving had 10, but the Irish fell to the visiting Cougars (8-2) in double-overtime. The game was tied at 63 at the end of regulation and at 71 after the first overtime period. Clark made six of Ursuline’s 14 3-pointers. Luke Frazier and Luke Eller led Lake Catholic with 26 points each. Ryan Baruszkowski, Sean Fitgerald and Christian DeMaro each added 11 points. The Cougars made 26 of 33 free-throw attempts. The Irish were 11 of 15 at the foul line.

Canfield 62, Lakeside 56

CANFIELD

Aydin Hanousek scored 19 points and Conor Crogan and Kyle Gamble each added 14 as the Cardinals outlasted the Dragons. The difference in the game was a 26-9 run by Canfield in the second quarter. Courtez Vaughn led all scorers with 26 points for Lakeside.

LaBrae 76, Liberty 36

LIBERTY

The Vikings’ Tyler Stephens almost outscored the Leopards by himself with 35 points as LaBrae breezed to a road victory in the All-American Conference. Benton Tennant added 12 points and Connor Meyer had 10 for the Vikings, who surged to a 44-13 lead by halftime and led 62-20 after three quarters. Travis Myers led Liberty with eight points.

Lakeview 63, Jefferson 35

JEFFERSON

Daniel Evans and Jeff Remmick each scored 15 points and Brandon Kilpatrick added 14 as the balanced Bulldogs blew out the Falcons on the road. Ryan Carnahan added nine points for Lakeview. Brandon Strang scored 11 for Jefferson.

Carson Ryan scored 17 points to lead four Wildcats (5-6, 2-3 Northeast 8) in double figures. Kevin Traylor scored 16 points, Jared Laczko 14 and Brandon Washington 10. For the Red Dragons, Cyler Kane-Johnson led with 27 points.

POLAND

Hubbard trailed 20-13 at the end of the first quarter, but Poland outscored the Eagles 20-5 to close the half. Michael Cougras scored 17 points to lead the Bulldogs. Daniel Kramer had 12 points and eight rebounds and Braeden O’Shaughnessy and Andrew Centofanti each scored 10 points. Andrew Frank and Cam Resatar each scored six points for the Eagles.

Hayden Kanicki’s 31 points included nine 3-pointers for Edgewood (10-0, 4-0 All-American Conference Blue). Also scoring in double figures were Jacob Zappitelli with 15 and Evan Rapose with 11. For the Tigers (6-5, 3-2), Gage Friend led with 14 points. Adam Honeycutt contributed seven points and six rebounds.

Ryan Fahs scored 19 points to lead the Clippers (8-6). Also scoring in double figures were Sean Whitehead with 18 and Erik Hopfenziz with 13. For the Rams, Koby Zupko scored 29 points and Jordan Zupko 10.

Cameren Grodhaus scored 26 points and made seven rebounds to lead the Indians (8-4). Jayce Sloan contributed 10 points, seven rebounds, three steals and three assists. For the Rebels, Drake Golden scored 19 points and Jude Riffle 13.

Gavin Shali scored 15 points to lead Jackson-Milton. Mason Robison added 14, AJ Bouch scored 13, and Cole Grope chipped in with 11 for the Blue Jays. Heartland Christian was led by Steven Baker with 12 points and Ronnie Matthews with 10.

Gabe Lanzer led all scorers with 28 points to lead Sebring (6-7). Lanzer made four 3-pointers. Joey Clark made five 3-pointers and scored 19 points for the Trojans. Jake Hunter added 10. Leetonia (2-12) was led by Brock Simpson with 13 points, including three 3-pointers.

SOUTHINGTON

Vinny Sharp scored 11 of his game high 22 points in the fourth quarter to lead Mathews to a come from behind victory. Sharp made six 3-pointers. The Mustangs outscored Southington 20-8 in the fourth quarter after trailing 42-38 heading into the final period. Mathews got 13 points from Zak Arnio, including three 3-pointers, and 12 points from John Smith. Southington was led by Aidan Ricks with 12 points and kyle Caracanas with 11.

Joe Abramovich paced the Flashes with 22 points. Austin Willforth notched a double-double for Champion with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Haden Gibson (13 points) and Conner Stevens (11) led Brookfield in scoring.

ANDOVER

Austin Roberts led Pymatuning Valley with 26 points. Nick Sapp added 11 for the Lakers, who pulled away after trailing 14-10 after the first quarter. Lordstown was led by Aiden Force with seven points.
