De’Andre Hunter scored 21 points and Ty Jerome had 14 and a career-high 12 assists as No. 4 Virginia started fast and routed No. 9 Virginia Tech. Kyle Guy added 15 points for the Cavaliers (16-0, 4-0 Atlantic Coast Conference), who never trailed .

No. 12 Kentucky 69, Georgia 49

ATHENS, GA.

Ashton Hagans silenced a hostile crowd by scoring a season-high 23 points, leading No. 12 Kentucky to a victory. The Wildcats (13-3, 3-1 Southeastern Conference) pulled away in the second half for their third straight victory.

No. 13 North Carolina 75, Notre Dame 69

CHAPEL HILL, N.C.

Nassir Little scored all 11 of his points in the final 11 minutes, and No. 13 North Carolina beat Notre Dame. Coby White had 17 points while Luke Maye added 14 points and 10 rebounds and Cameron Johnson finished with 11 points for the Tar Heels (13-4, 3-1 Atlantic Coast Conference). UNC used a late 12-1 run to bounce back from its most lopsided home loss under Hall of Fame coach Roy Williams.

Wake Forest 71, No. 17 N.C. State 67

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.

Jaylen Hoard had 16 points and 10 rebounds, and Wake Forest blew a 22-point lead before recovering to top No. 17 North Carolina State. Torry Johnson added 11 points for the Demon Deacons. That included a critical jumper with 1:19 left, along with two free throws with 13.3 seconds left.

No. 24 Mississippi State 71, Florida 68

STARKVILLE, MISS.

Quinndary Weatherspoon converted a three-point play with 3.4 seconds left to lift No. 24 Mississippi State over Florida. Weatherspoon drove the lane and was fouled by Kevarrius Hayes while sinking the winning layup. Weatherspoon finished with nine points. Lamar Peters scored all 16 of his points in the first half.

Purdue 89, Rutgers 54

WEST LAFAYETTE, IND.

Carsen Edwards had 19 points, six assists and five rebounds to lead Purdue over Rutgers. Trevion Williams had 16 points and 13 rebounds and Sasha Stefanovic added 14 points for the Boilermakers (11-6, 4-2 Big Ten Conference) who have won five of their last six. Montez Mathis scored 19 points, Shaq Carter had 10 points and seven rebounds and Geo Baker had 10 points and five rebounds.

Toledo 71, Miami (Ohio) 59

TOLEDO

Jaelan Sanford scored 19 points and Toledo beat Miami (Ohio) for its 11th straight win in the series. Toledo’s last loss to Miami (Ohio) was a 68-66 setback on Feb. 12, 2011 in coach Tod Kowalczyk’s first season at the helm of the Rockets. Luke Knapke added 11 points with seven rebounds and Marreon Jackson had 10 points, six assists and four steals for Toledo.

Cincinnati 82, South Florida 74

CINCINNATI

Jarron Cumberland scored a career-high 34 points, and Cincinnati blew a 14-point lead and had coach Mick Cronin ejected before rallying for a victory over South Florida. With 18 minutes left, Cronin got a technical from official Lee Cassell for arguing a foul called on Nysier Brooks. Cronin became enraged and had to be restrained by Brooks, drawing another technical from official Mark Schnur.

Akron 51, Eastern Michigan 49

AKRON

Daniel Utomi and Jimond Ivey scored 12 points each and Akron held off Eastern Michigan despite poor shooting from both teams late. Utomi made a 3-pointer to put the Zips up for good, 46-45, with 6:30 to play.

Kent State 66, Ohio 52

ATHENS

Jaylin Walker scored 21 points and broke a 3-point record, Philip Whittington had 10 points and 10 rebounds and Kent State pulled away early in the second half. Walker hit three 3-pointers to become the leading 3-point shooter in Kent State history with 248 makes.

Loyola-Chicago 71, Valparaiso 54

CHICAGO

Aher Uguak, Cameron Krutwig and Cooper Kaifes each scored 12 points and Loyola-Chicago beat Valparaiso. Clayton Custer, Marques Townes, and Lucas Williamson added 11 points apiece for the Ramblers. Markus Golder made three of Valparaiso’s six 3-pointers and finished with 16 points.
