Salem Historical Society is using the theme “Made in Salem” for the annual Salem community calendar. This edition of the calendar features all photographs in full color, including Mullins Manufacturing Co., Grove Chewing Gum, songwriter Brooks Bowman, The Farm and Dairy, nationally recognized artist Charles Burchfield, Theiss Aviation, The Quaker Mule Tractor, the baskets of Strotter Brown, Deming Pumps, Ella Thea Smith-Cox “Exploring Biology” book, Wirsching Organ Company, Woodruff Stove Company, and Salem China. Legacy Dog Rescue will host its third annual reverse raffle at 6 p.m. April 6 at Avion on the Water Banquet Center, 2177 W. Western Reserve Road, Canfield. Cost is $65 per ticket and includes two dinners and one chance to win the grand prize of $1,500. Doors will open at 5 p.m., and dinner will be served at 6. The raffle will take place at 7. There will be a basket auction, games of chance and a raffle. Rotary Club of Youngstown will host the Groundhog Day Craft Beerfest from 1 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Feb. 2 at Stambaugh Auditorium, 1000 Fifth Ave., Youngstown. Local, regional and national brewers will participate in the event, which will raise funds that allow Youngstown Rotary to support local organizations. Stambaugh Auditorium, 1000 Fifth Ave., will host a Winter Wine Affair from 1 to 3 p.m. or 6 to 8 p.m. Jan. 26. Mineral Ridge Alumni Association is sponsoring a bus trip to Rivers Casino Pittsburgh on Feb. 20. Cost is $35 with $20 for slots and a $5 food bonus. Photo identification is required at the casino. The bus will leave at 9 a.m. from St. Mary Catholic Church, 3504 state Route 46, Mineral Ridge. Arrive at 8:30 for complimentary coffee and doughnuts. Payment is required in advance with checks made payable and sent to Mineral Ridge Alumni Association, P.O. Box 191, Mineral Ridge, OH 44440. Proceeds benefit the scholarship fund.
