Dayton police: Man found shot in car dies from injuries

DAYTON, Ohio (AP) — Authorities say a city man found shot in a car has died.

Dayton police say officers responding to reports of shots fired found the man wounded and slumped over the steering of the car late Sunday night. Investigators say the man was taken to a hospital where he died from his injuries.

The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office has identified the man as 42-year-old Shawn Reuber, of Dayton.

Police have said a person of interest was found a few blocks away from the car with a handgun. They didn’t immediately release any additional information.

Police say their investigation is continuing.
