Richter again wins award for kids song

COLUMBIANA

Children’s music artist Chip Richter of Columbiana was recently awarded Best Children’s Song in the Ohio Music Awards for his song “Monster Under My Bed.”

This is the third year in a row Richter has received the award; his songs “Let’s Dance” and “Jammy Day” brought home the honor in 2016 and 2017, respectively. Richter’s other notable recognitions include being named Best Children’s Musician by Lake Erie Living Magazine and a Parents’ Choice Award for his CD “The Dream Tree.”

Richter has writing, producing and performing music for children and families for more than 20 years.

“I’ve come to a place in my career now where I’m starting to see young parents who grew up listening to my music coming back to my shows with their own kids,” he said.

Richter frequently performs at area schools, churches, libraries and festivals. The Ohio Music Awards are open to Ohio artists whose original recordings are either recorded, produced or mixed primarily within the state.
