MEN

No. 1 Duke 87, Wake Forest 65

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.

Freshman sensation Zion Williamson scored a season-high 30 points with 10 rebounds, and No. 1 Duke won its first road game of the season by beating Wake Forest. RJ Barrett finished with 21 points and matched a season high with seven assists, and Cameron Reddish added 10 points during his best game in a month. Freshman forward Jaylen Hoard scored 13 points, and Sharone Wright Jr. and Brandon Childress had 12 apiece for the Demon Deacons.

No. 3 Tennessee 87, Missouri 63

COLUMBIA, MO.

Kyle Alexander had 14 points and a career-high 17 rebounds as third-ranked Tennessee beat Missouri. Jordan Bowden came off the bench to score 20 points, Jordan Bone added 17 and Admiral Schofield finished with 16 for the Volunteers. Freshman Xavier Pinson scored 14 points and Jordan Geist had 12 — all in the first half — for Missouri.

No. 6 Michigan State 77, Purdue 59

EAST LANSING, Mich.

Cassius Winston shook off a slow start and finished with 23 points to help No. 6 Michigan State beat Purdue. Purdue’s Carsen Edwards had a season-low 11 points. Michigan State’s Nick Ward scored 16 points and Xavier Tillman had 11 points. Ryan Cline had 12 points. Freshman Trevion Williams had season highs with 13 points and 12 rebounds for Purdue.

No. 12 North Carolina 90, No. 15 N.C. State 82

RALEIGH, N.C.

Luke Maye scored 21 points to help No. 12 North Carolina hold off No. 15 North Carolina State in the longtime rivals’ latest meeting. Freshman Coby White added 19 points for the Tar Heels, who scored the game’s first 12 points and never trailed. Braxton Beverly scored 21 points to lead the Wolfpack.

No. 18 Kentucky 85, Texas A&M 74

LEXINGTON, KY.

Tyler Herro had 21 points, Ashton Hagans scored a career-high 18 and No. 18 Kentucky overcame a 10-0 deficit. Jay Jay Chandler and TJ Starks each had 18 points for Texas A&M.

No. 19 Buffalo 110, Toledo 80

AMHERST, N.Y.

Jeremy Harris scored a career-best 34 points in leading No. 19 Buffalo to a rout of Toledo. Harris scored 20 points in the first half alone and finished hitting a career-best six 3-point baskets for the Bulls. Nick Perkins scored 21 and Jayvon Graves had 13 points and 12 rebounds for Buffalo. Marreon Jackson scored 20 and Chris Darrington added 21 for Toledo.

Baylor 73, No. 20 Iowa State 70

WACO, TEXAS

Makai Mason scored 25 points, including five free throws in the final 38 seconds as Baylor held on to beat No. 20 Iowa State. Devonte Bandoo made two free throws with five seconds left for Baylor. Tristan Clark added 16 points for Baylor while Bandoo had 13. Marial Shayok had 19 points to lead Iowa State. Lindell Wigginton and Michael Jacobson had 11 each.

Villanova 76, No. 24 St. John’s 71

VILLANOVA, PA.

Phil Booth hit a go-ahead 3-pointer late in the game and scored 23 points to help Villanova rally to beat No. 24 St. John’s. Eric Paschall scored 25 points for the defending national champion Wildcats. Booth connected on a 3 with 2:33 to go for a 68-67 lead they would not relinquish. Shamorie Ponds had 23 points for St. John’s.

WOMEN

No. 9 Maryland 81, Nebraska 63

LINCOLN, NEB.

Kaila Charles scored 19 points, eight of them coming when Maryland broke open the game in the third quarter, and the No. 9 Terrapins beat Nebraska for Brenda Frese’s 500th win as a head coach. Taylor Mikesell hit four 3-pointers while adding 16 points for the Terps and Jones finished with 13. Blair Watson added 12 points for Maryland.
