“Golden Globe Awards” (tonight at 8 p.m., NBC): Sandra Oh and Andy Samberg host the 76th annual awards ceremony for Hollywood and television.

Slagle to lecture on Boardman Park
BOARDMAN
Dan Slagle, executive director of Boardman Park, will give a presentation on the park at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. James Meeting House, which is in the park. Admission is free. Reservations are not required but are suggested; call Dona Hammond at 330-726-0651.
Slagle is a lifelong resident of Boardman and a graduate of Boardman High School. In 1972, he began working at Boardman Park as a groundskeeper. At the same time, he completed his bachelor’s degree in combined science at Youngstown State University.
Slagle was promoted to assistant superintendent of Boardman Park in 1988, and in 1992 the Board of Park Commissioners promoted him to Superintendent/Clerk. In 2000 his title was changed to executive director.
Slagle is a member of the Ohio Parks and Recreation Association, the National Recreation and Park Association, and the Boardman Rotary; past president of the Boardman Civic Association, and Kiwanis Club of Uptown Youngstown; co-chairman of the Boardman Township Bicentennial Committee, and past president of the Men’s Garden Club of Youngstown.
