“Community Connection” (Sunday at 6:30 a.m. on 21 WFMJ-TV, and at 11 a.m. on WBCB-TV): The city of Youngstown has some new faces in key community positions, including Dawn Turnage, director of parks and recreation, who will join host Madonna Chism Pinkard to discuss upcoming activities. Alsot, Jessica Driscoll-Owens will discuss the Beatitude House and its commitment to serving disadvantaged women and children.

“A Conversation with Dee” (Sunday at 7:30 a.m. on WYTV-TV): Host Dee Crawford presents an encore presentation of her discussion with leaders at the Beatitude House.

Boardman schools present concert

BOARDMAN

Boardman Center Intermediate and Glenwood Junior High will present their winter band concerts on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively.

Both concerts will be at 7 p.m. in the Boardman High School Performing Arts Center, 7777 Glenwood Ave. Admission is $3 ($2 for students, free for senior citizens).

CLEVELAND

Great Lakes Science Center will offer free general admission to all guests from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Jan. 21, in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

There will be special programming throughout the museum from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. including the Bubblemania, Magic of Matter and It’s Electric science demonstrations; Big Science Shows, including the popular Lift Off!, Fire & Ice, and CryoBlast shows; Capsule Chats at the Apollo Command Module; hands-on science cart activities, and more. Admission includes the NASA Glenn Visitor Center, the Polymer Funhouse (for those 7 and younger) and hundreds of hands-on, interactive science exhibits.
