Former YSU baseball star Dosch retires
Drew Dosch, who was a star infielder with Youngstown State and spent several seasons in the Baltimore Orioles minor-league system, announced his retirement from baseball on Thursday.
Dosch, 26, has spent parts of the last five seasons with Delmarva (Class A), Frederick (Class A), Bowie (Class AA) and Norfolk (Class AAA). He appeared in games at all four infield positions in the minors.
Dosch played in 103 games with Norfolk in 2018. He batted .276 with seven home runs and 40 RBIs.
Dosch was selected by the Orioles in the seventh round of the 2013 June amateur draft.
The former YSU standout announced his retirement on his Twitter account.
