‘Sea Horse’ at Hopewell Theatre

The Hopewell Theatre, 702 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown, will present “The Sea Horse,” a two-person drama written by Edward J. Moore, for five performances over two-consecutive weekends, beginning this weekend. Performances will be 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and again on Jan. 11 and 12; and 2 p.m. Jan. 12. The play, set in a waterfront bar called The Sea Horse, is the unlikely love story of Gertrude Blum (played by Lori George) and Harry Bales (played by Brian Suchora). Harry and Gerti, two outwardly abrasive characters, have been involved in a purely physical relationship, but can they take the next step? “The Sea Horse” is directed by Rosalyn Blystone, and contains mature language and themes. Tickets are $13 ($10 for senior citizens and students). For reservations, call 330-746-5455 or go to hopewelltheatre.org.
