Fred Thomas hired by Mount Union football

Former Malone football coach Fred Thomas was hired by Mount Union. He made the announcement on his Twitter account on Wednesday night, but didn’t say what his title will be.

Thomas was the coach for the Pioneers for three seasons before the university announced it was cutting the program on Feb. 1.

Thomas was the defensive coordinator at Youngstown State from 1984-86. He left the Penguins in 1987 to become the head coach at Girard, where he spent three seasons.
