UPDATE | Community conversation about Niles police shooting

WARREN

About 90 people gathered at Second Baptist Church on Main Avenue Southwest tonight to have a "community conversation on justice" regarding the Jan. 2 shooting death of Matthew Burroughs by Niles police.

The meeting was organized by the Alliance for Congregational Transformation Influencing our Neighborhoods (ACTION) and the Committee for Justice for Matthew.

The Rev. Todd Johnson of Second Baptist church seved as host.

Members of the Committee for Justice talked about some of the facts of the case, but most of the discussion was about supporting the efforts of the Trumbull County Chapter of the NAACP in its call for an investigation of the Niles Police Department and for the investigation into Burroughs' death be carried out fairly.
