YOUNGSTOWN

Mike Pelini led four Cardinals in double figures with 16 points as seventh-seeded Mooney advanced to a sectional final at second-seeded Lakeview at 7 p.m. on Friday. Tommy Fire added 15 points, Anthony Fire had 13 and Pete Haas finished with 10 for the Cardinals. Kevin Traylor led the Wildcats with 18 points, Trey Metzka had 13 and Carson Ryan added 10.

YOUNGSTOWN

R.J. Clark made four of the Irish’s nine 3-pointers and scored 25 points as Ursuline (13-10) beat Hubbard (2-21) in a sectional semifinal. Jakylan Irving added 14 points and Johnny Rowland had 10 for the fourth-seeded Irish, who will host fifth-seeded Canfied in a sectional final at 7 p.m. on Friday. Cam Resatar led all scorers with 31 points for the Eagles. Chanze Kelley added 13.

GIRARD

Austin Claussell’s 28 points pushed Girard into a sectional final against Chaney on Friday. Christian Graziano scored 11 of his 13 points in the second half and Matt Payich added 10. Jordan Sperling was the lone Howland player in double figures with 12 points.

BELOIT

Corbin Foy scored 23 points and made six assists and five rebounds to lead the Red Dragons. Cyler Kane-Johnson contributed 21 points and seven rebounds. Niles advances to Friday’s sectional final at Poland at 7 p.m. For the Warriors, Nick Pidgeon scored 12 points and Nick Everett 10.

HANOVERTON

Landon Baker scored 20 points to lead the Golden Eagles. Parker Hydrick scored 16 points as United advances to a sectional final game at Waterloo on Friday at 7 p.m. Lucas Ruegg led Fairless with 12 points.

COLUMBIANA

Sean Whitehead and Carter Pasco scored 10 points each to lead Columbiana. Erik Hopfenziz added nine for the Clippers. East Palestine was led by Dom Posey with 13 points. Columbiana will take on South Range Friday at 7 p.m.

Valley Christian 36, Western Reserve 23

YOUNGSTOWN

Melvin neail scored 15 points and Milan Square added 12 for Valley Christian, who outlasted Western Reserve in a low-scoring affair. Western Reserve was led by Noah Klasic with eight points. Valley Christian advances to play Canton Central Catholic Friday at 7 p.m.

Brookfield 60, Liberty 49 OT

BROOKFIELD

Brookfield got six and five points respectively in overtime from Brady Reichart and Conner Stevens. Reichart led Brookfield with 27 points, as the Warriors outscored Liberty 13-2 in overtime. Connor Filipovich added 16 and Conner Stevens totaled 12 points for Brookfield. Liberty was led by Ezell Brown with 16 points. Micah Dukes added 11 for the Leopards. Brookfield advances to take on Edgewood, Friday at 7 p.m.

Mineral Ridge 77, Campbell 71

MINERAL RIDGE

Jordan Zupko scored 25 points to lead Mineral Ridge. Zupko’s 25 points put him at 1,218 career points, passing Gary Pugh’s 1,194 points (1976-80) for most in Mineral Ridge school history. Ausitn Governor added 18 points, Koby Zupko had 16, and Joe Rozzi added 10 for the Rams. Campbell was led by Kevin Moore with 19 points. Xavian Leonard added 12 points, Sevos Kouros had 11, and Raysean Hicks added 10 for the Devils.

LISBON

Justin Sweeney’s triple-double included 25 points, 13 rebounds, 10 steals and four assists for the Blue Devils (11-12). Ryan McCullough scored 15 points and made six assists while Blayne Brownfield scored 11 points. Friday at 7 p.m., Lisbon will play at Sebring in a sectional final. For the Lions, Ron Mathews led with 23 points.

WARREN

Cameron Hollobaugh scored 18 points to lead the Eagles. Jody Hayes and Sejjan Cuoto each scored 13 points. Warren JFK advances to Friday’s sectional final at Bristol. Hunter Bates scored 10 for the Rockets.
