The Youngstown State University Dance Ensemble will present its annual concert Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening in Ford Theater, which is inside Bliss Hall. There will be no Sunday matinee.

Tickets are $16 ($8 for nonYSU students, YSU faculty and staff with valid ID, senior citizens and groups of eight or more) and can be purchased at the door or in advance at ysu.tix.

Under the artistic direction of faculty member Amy Wright, the concert will feature original work by nine student and three faculty choreographers and 30 student dancers.

Tickets: $16 ($8 for nonYSU students, YSU faculty and staff with valid ID, senior citizens, and groups of eight or more). YSU student tickets are free with valid ID. All tickets are general admission and can be purchased in advance by calling 330-941-3105 or online at ysu.tix.

Parking: Available in the M30 Wick Avenue parking deck for a nominal fee.

“This concert is wonderfully varied, with work including theater jazz, tap, modern and dance theater, work meant to uplift and work meant to challenge our social framework,” said Wright. “We share it in hope that our audience may find as much joy and truth in it as we do.”

The YSU Dance Ensemble, a sanctioned student organization, accepts members via an audition process in the fall term. Members practice weekly to hone their performance skills.

Professional staff include Antonio Colaruotolo, lighting designer; Katherine Garlick, costume designer; Ryan Fitzpatrick, technical director; and Sarah Dubos, stage manager.
