Loudon Love had a career-high 26 points as Wright State easily beat Youngstown State 82-54 on Saturday at Nutter Center.

Ursuline High School graduate Mark Hughes had 14 points for Wright State (18-11, 12-4 Horizon League), which won its sixth consecutive game. Cole Gentry added 12 points. Malachi Smith had seven rebounds and seven assists for the Raiders.

Michael Akuchie had 12 points for the Penguins (12-18, 8-9), who have lost two straight after their own six-game winnings streak. Akuchie’s points came on a career-best four 3-pointers.

Akuchie was the only YSU player to reach double figures in scoring. Freshman guard Darius Quisenberry had eight points and Naz Bohannon and Garrett Covington each finished with seven.

WSU caught fire early making 10 of its first 15 field-goal attempts and shooting 58.1 percent (18 of 31) from the floor in the first half, including eight 3-pointers. The Raiders led 49-27 at the break.

Hughes finished 5 of 8 from the field, including 4 of 6 on 3-pointers. WSU shot 49.2 percent (30 of 61) from the floor for the game.

The Raiders also forced 17 YSU turnovers that led to 20 points.

WSU swept the season series from YSU. The Raiders beat the Penguins 80-74 on Jan. 17.

Wright State takes on Green Bay on the road on Thursday. YSU closes out the regular season against Cleveland State at home on Saturday at Beeghy Center.

The game will be YSU’s Senior Night for Noe Anabir, the Penguins’ only senior.
