JCC to host opening reception Thursday

YOUNGSTOWN

The Thomases Family Endowment of the Youngstown Area Jewish Federation Art Gallery, housed in the Jewish Community Center, 505 Gypsy Lane, will host an opening reception from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday for its latest exhibition, “Mahoning Valley Watercolor Society Showcase.” The Mahoning Valley Watercolor Society was founded in 1982 by 11 area artists. Their goal was to encourage local watercolor painters.

The society provides watercolorists with a place to share work, to learn more about watercolor technique and to get information about relevant events in the community. Though primarily focusing on watercolor, they also encourage members’ exploration of other artistic media.

The opening reception is free and open to the public. The exhibition will be on display until April 4. Register online at jcc-youngstown.org or by calling 330-746-3250, ext. 195. For information, contact Emily Blau at 330-746-3250, ext. 152.
