The Mahoning County Coon Hunters, 9680 Akron-Canfield Road, will have a wild-game dinner and gun raffle today. Doors open at 5 p.m. Cost is a $20 donation.

UKC coonhound bench show planned

The Lawrence County Coon and Fox Hunters Association, Beechwood Road, is having a licensed U.K.C. coonhound bench show at 3 p.m., followed by a treeing contest, March 2. There also will be a coonhound night hunt from 7:30 until closing.
Spring turkey shoots
Lowellville
Lowellville Rod & Gun Club, 6225 Quarry Road, will have spring turkey shoots every Tuesday from March 5 to April 30.
The shoots are open to the public. Shells will be provided at $2 per shell. Sign-up is at 6 p.m., and shoots are at 7.

The Lowellville Rod & Gun Club, 6225 Quarry Rd., is having a hunter education course from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 23 and 24.

Firearms classes for women
Vienna
Fish and Game Club of Vienna, 1508 Youngstown-Kingsville Road, is offering a women’s firearms class, which starts May 14 and runs for eight weeks. Class time is 5:45 to 10 p.m. The class qualifies participants for a concealed-carry permit. Cost is $75.
