Poland Union Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization hosted its annual Valentine’s Day party on Feb. 14.

All students at Poland Union were treated to ice cream sundaes with an abundance of toppings provided by the PTO.

Volunteers assisted in each classroom, setting up games and helping coordinate the party.

First-grade teacher Tina Bonarigo said that due to allergies students are not permitted to bring candy or any type of food as their Valentine’s Day treats.

Due to this, children passed out pencils, miniature games, homemade crafts and other unique items.

“It often allows them to be more creative,” Bonarigo said. “They students never bring the same things as each other.”

Students played Valentine’s bean bag toss, and ring toss during the Valentine’s Day party.

The school also sold carnations for students to purchase for a dollar that were dyed a variety of colors.
