The Poland library hosted a V is for Valentine’s Day story time and holiday party on Feb. 7.
Youth librarian Jane Adams welcomed the children to the event with a story time during which she read “Be Mine, Be Mine Sweet Valentine,” “Clifford’s First Valentine’s Day and “Foxy in Love.”
The party, which was open to children of all ages, also included games and crafts. Adams passed out pink berry Cheerios and instructed the children on making a bird feeder heart by stringing the cereal on a piece of yarn and tieing it up into a heart shape.
Games the children played included Valentine Bingo with conversation hearts as markers, Valentine I Spy and Valentine Mad Libs. Children could also throw a small fleece ball at a bear board and try to make the ball stick to the bear.
Temporary tattoos with a Valentine’s theme were also available to the children and Adams passed out small stuffed animals for the children to take home.
Most importantly, Adams also had special Valentine candy for the children to enjoy.
“This is a fun night for everyone,” Adams said.
