The Boardman library hosted their annual Celebrate the Arts night on Feb. 5.
Librarian Amy Burkard organized the event, which displayed art created by local students.
“We want to show off how awesome and artistic the local teenagers are,” Burkard said.
She said the event has been going on annually for 18 years.
“We want to support art, and teens, and to encourage people to come to the library and check out what the students are doing,” Burkard said.
Art teachers from Boardman High School and Glenwood Junior High School chose a number of their students best pieces to put on display.
Burkard said the teachers visit the library before the event, and put up the art themselves.
“It’s great to have such a large amount of support from the community for this,” Burkard said.
The library provided light desserts and drinks to community members as they walked through the gallery. The art was displayed from Feb. 5-12.
“This is something we do every year, and hope to continue to do in the years to come,” Burkard said.
