‘Dating Sucks’ at Rust Belt Theater
Keith Stepanic and Jessica Patoray in a scene from Rust Belt Theater Company’s “Dating Sucks: The Musical,” which returns this weekend for a six-show run. The revue-style comedy, written by Robert Dennick Joki with orchestrations by Josh Taylor, explores the peaks and pitfalls of modern dating, with cringeworthy, real-life dating stories and original songs. The show also features dialog taken directly from online dating profiles and mobile dating app conversations. Kage Coven is the director. Performances will be at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and also Feb. 22 and 23 and March 1 and 2. The theater is in Calvin Center, 755 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown.
