Staff report

MERCER, PA.

Pennsylvania State Police have identified the two teens killed in an accident on Interstate 80 on Sunday night.

The two teens who died are Hickory High School students Alexis Myers, 16, and Danielle Nelson, 15. Two more teens were seriously injured after a SUV they were riding in about 6:50 p.m. was involved in an accident with two tractor-trailers on I-80 eastbound during a snow squall.

State police at Mercer said weather was a factor in the crash.

A crash report said both teens who suffered fatal injuries were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash, as were the two who were seriously injured.

The 17-year-old SUV driver was taken to Grove City Medical Center before she was transferred to a Pittsburgh hospital. The other teen who was injured was also taken to Grove City Medical Center.

According to the Mercer County 911 Center, there were multiple crashes along I-80 that kept troopers busy Sunday evening.
