Area native John Mang to umpire in Class-AAA

YOUNGSTOWN

Austintown native and professional umpire John Mang has been assigned to the International League this season.

Mang is entering his seventh season in professional baseball. He spent the past three seasons in the Eastern League where he was a crew chief in 2017 and 2018.

He joins local umpire John Bacon, a Sebring graduate, who is currently a crew chief in the International League.

Other locals receiving assignments were Boardman natives Jude Koury and Drew Saluga. Koury will work the Florida State League while Saluga is headed for the South Atlantic League.
