Boardman is sending a record number of athletes — eight boys and nine girls — to districts on Thursday at the Robert F. Busbey Natatorium in Cleveland.

The boys 400 freestyle relay team of Will Linker, Jordan Stackpole, Matthew DunLany and Noah Basista earned the top seed for districts after taking first at sectionals. Individually, Basista took No. 3 and No. 4 seeds in the 100 breaststroke and 100 butterfly, respectively. On the girls’ side, the 400 freestyle relay team of Jenna Markovitch, Alison Kuras, Alyssa Dinapoli and Mikel Flatley earned the Spartans’ highest seed at No. 7.

Fitch is sending Jake Lawrence and Gia Direnzo to districts. Direnzo will be the No. 4 seed in the 100 butterfly.
