Locals, MU women take 2nd at All-Ohio


WESTERVILLE

For the second straight year, the Mount Union women’s indoor track and field team was edged out for the team title at the All-Ohio Championships Saturday at Otterbein University in Westerville.

The Purple Raiders had won the event for seven years in a row before losing by only three points a year go to host Otterbein. This year the Cardinals scored a nine-point win 110-101 in the event. Mount Union was 15.5 points clear of third place Baldwin Wallace (85.5).

Alexianna Johnson had a pair of podium finishes with season-bests as she placed second in the long jump at 17-feet, 11-inches and a third in the triple jump at 35-feet, 7.25-inches.

The Raiders had four more second place finishes from Hilary Reigle in the mile run (5:07.65), Sabrina Stocker in the 60-meter hurdles (9.12), the 4x200 meter relay team of Eva Rivera (Austintown Fitch), Mariah Eisenbraun (United), Hannah Kahn, Olivia Powers (1:47.22) and the 4x200 meter relay team of Sarah Mason, Maryanna Cathey, Michalena Terranova (Jackson-Milton) and Lindsay Thut.

Mount Union hosts the Raider Tune-Up Saturday at Peterson Fieldhouse.
