Scouting ceremony set for Sunday

CANFIELD

The Scouts and families of Cub Scout Pack 225 and BSA Troop 25 will recognize the 109th anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America, which began Feb. 8, 1910, at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Canfield United Methodist Church, 27 S. Broad St. An awards ceremony will follow the service. The Rev. Abby Auman, district superintendent of the Mahoning Valley District of the United Methodist Church, will present five Cub Scouts with the Methodist God and Family Award. Pack 25 will recognize its 83rd anniversary, established in 1936 at Canfield United Methodist Church. The Scouts also will serve a pancake breakfast in the fellowship hall from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., which is open to the public for a donation.

College to host Social Sciences Visit Day

NEW WILMINGTON, PA

High school students interested in studying political science, criminal justice, international studies, psychology, sociology and neuroscience in college are invited to attend Westminster College’s Social Sciences Visit Day on Feb. 18. Check-in will begin at 11:45 a.m. at the McKelvey Campus Center. After a complimentary lunch in Duff Dining Hall, prospective students will attend panel sessions featuring faculty and students from Westminster’s School of Social Sciences. Library to host wellness stations

Foundation to host workshop

HOWLAND

Healthier at Home, a free workshop sponsored by Mercy Health Foundation Mahoning Valley, will provide solid advice for caring for one’s self, preventing illness and injury, and determining when to seek medical care. Participants will also receive a book, “Your Complete Guide to Symptoms, Solutions & Self Care,” which provides step-by-step instructions for addressing more than 200 common health issues. This program will take place from 11 a.m. to noon Wednesday at Howland Medical Center, 1932 Niles-Cortland Road NE. To register, call 330-480-3070. Library to host CPR program Wednesday

A cardiac pulmonary resuscitation demonstration will be the focus of the Wellness Wednesday program at Salem Public Library. Amy Bennett of Salem Regional Medical Center will present the program at 6:30 p.m. in the library’s Quaker Room, 821 E State St. Adults are encouraged to participate to learn and/or review proper CPR technique. Feast of Salads planned
