The Canfield Diamondbackers hosted an All-In Auction to raise money to support the Canfield High School baseball program on Feb. 2.

All prizes were donated from baseball families and local businesses and included such items as, Canfield Baseball spirit wear, window cleaning, a wine basket, an Italian basket, a designer backpack purse, a pet basket and Rodan and Fields skincare. Several gift cards were also up for grabs, including Dunkin Donuts, Nike, Giant Eagle, Springfield Grille. Chipotle, Target, Panera Bread and Red Robin.

Attendees could also purchase tickets for ‘Grand Slam’ items, valued at $200 and up, including a Canfield letterman jacket with accessories, Panera Bread for a year, men and women’s Ray Ban sunglasses, Clevealnd Cavaliers game tickets and Cleveland Indians game tickets.

Lisa Velker served as chairperson for the event, while Mark Velker served as emcee for the evening.

“It takes a lot of teamwork to put this together. We have lots of people to thank for the success of this evening. The money raised her tonight will help our baseball program in many areas,” Mark said in welcoming the large crowd.

Lisa Velker said the fundraiser is also meant to build up funds for years to come.

“This is the Diamondbackers’ only fundraiser. It’s a lot of work, but we want to build up funds for years to come and leave a legacy for younger players. We are very fortunate with our donations. Everyone has been very generous and we appreicate all their support,” Lisa said.
