Local hockey players win 10-U tournament

COLUMBUS

Three Mahoning Valley hockey players were members of the Lawrence County Lightning 10-U squirt team that recently won the Buckeye Classic ice hockey tournament.

Gavin Loomis (Austintown), Wyatt Neff (Boardman) and Connor Hallden (Liberty) play for the Lightning, which went 4-0. In overtime, the Lightning won the championship game against the Kentucky Norse.

Other team members are Nicholas Fedrizzi, Marko Relic, Joshua Pitzer, Blake Buckel, Grant Hennon, Brody Young, Brayden Klugh, Lincoln Saracco, Mason Moser, Bryce Fisher, Alex Rodgers, Brendin Sankey, Luca Mezzanotte, Benjamin Such and Sean McGraw. Shane Saracco is the head coach assisted by Mike Hennon and Tom Mezzanotte.
