YSU women golfers begin play on Monday

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla.

The Youngstown State women’s golf team will begin the spring season Monday with the Motor City Cup hosted by Oakland at Mission Inn Resort & Club.

The event will feature tournament match play in a bracket-style format with the winning team in each head-to-head match advancing. The tournament will feature seven other schools: Creighton, IUPUI, Loyola-Chicago, Northern Kentucky, Oakland, Illinois-Chicago and Valparaiso.

YSU has the top seed and open against Illinois-Chicago.

The Penguins’ roster has Katlyn Shutt, Victoria Grans, Puthita Khuanrudee, Rattika Sittigool, Jenna Vivo and Megan Creager.
