HARTFORD

The Trumbull County engineer announced that Five Points Hartford Road between state Route 7 and Bushnell Campbell Road will be closed from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Sept. 21 for the Hartford Apple Festival parade. Hartford Township Police Department will coordinate traffic control.

Rabies vaccinations

YOUNGSTOWN

Youngstown City Health District will offer a rabies vaccination clinic for dogs, cats and ferrets over 3 months old from 2 to 3 p.m. Sept. 28 at Oakhill Renaissance Place, 345 Oak Hill Ave., in the parking deck. Rabies vaccinations are required in the city and Mahoning County and cost $6 per shot. Pet owners must have their pets on a leash, in a cage or restrained. No appointment is necessary.

Faith & Family Festival

NORTH CANTON

The 10th Annual Faith & Family Festival of the Catholic Diocese of Youngstown will take place Sept. 22 on the West Quad of Walsh University’s Campus, 2020 E. Maple St.

The day will start at 11 a.m. with Mass with Monsignor John Zuraw, chancellor of the Diocese of Youngstown, and end at 5 p.m. with a Eucharistic procession.

The day will feature Christian comedian John Branyan, SingStark! from Voices of Canton Inc., plus other talented musical acts. In addition, there will be a variety of activities for kids, students and families and affordable food by Cafe Augustine.

Admission is free but donations will be accepted. The Faith and Family Festival promises to be the largest gathering of Catholic families in the Diocese of Youngstown. For information, visit www.FaithFamilyFest.org.

Cars & Coffee event

Cars & Coffee, a community gathering of like-minded car enthusiasts coming together to enjoy rich automotive history, sharing stories and their vehicles alike, will take place from 9 a.m. to noon Sept. 8. It will take place rain or shine at the National Packard Museum, 1899 Mahoning Ave.

Registration is $8 and participants receive complimentary admission for two to the museum. After the event’s conclusion, those attending can stay for the program “Packard Electric: Electrical Workers & Labor History 1899-1997” sponsored by the William M. & A. Cafaro Family Foundation that begins at noon. This lecture is free with paid admission to the museum.

Founders Day event

Mahoning Valley Historical Society is planning its 144th Founders Day open house for Sept. 8 at Tyler History Center, 325 W. Federal St., with many free activities and a focus on the Mahoning River.

Admission to the history center will be free Sept. 8. Free parking will be available in the adjacent lot on the west side of the building.

Earned master’s degree

AUSTINTOWN

Mr. and Mrs. C. Edward Barker III of Austintown announce the graduation of their son, Alex, from the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University, where he earned his master of business administration degree.

Barker graduated from Austintown Fitch High School in 2006, where he was class president. He attended Youngstown State University for his undergraduate work and graduated from Kent State University in 2011.

He worked for Key Bank in Cleveland and Manhattan as an analyst and also worked for Robert W. Baird & Associates in New Jersey before attending Cornell.

Barker has accepted an offer to join the financial restructuring group at Houlihan Lokey, a leading Wall Street firm, and will be moving back to New York City.

Annual Day of Caring
