AARP 4611 East Youngstown will meet for its executive board meeting at 11 a.m. Sept. 18 at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 707 Arlington St. A representative from Direction Home of Eastern Ohio (formerly known as the Area Agency on Aging 11), will speak at noon. Nominations for president and vice president will follow. Members are asked to take school supplies. July, August and September birthdays will be recognized, and old and new business will be discussed. The last payment for the October trip is due. There will be a 50-50 raffle. Freetimers will host its monthly breakfast at 9 a.m. Sept. 3 at Davidson’s Restaurant in Cornersburg. All Youngstown State University retirees are invited.
Lowellville Senior Citizens will meet at noon Sept. 6 at the Lowellville City Hall conference room. Brenda Perry, president, will preside, and lunch will be provided. Mahoning Retired Teachers Association will meet for its fall luncheon Sept. 11 at Drake’s Landing Banquet Center, 2177 W. Western Reserve Road, Canfield. The social hour will begin at 11 a.m. with lunch at 11:45, followed by the meeting and program. Susan Harris will preside, and newly retired educators will be introduced. Cathy Hergenrother from the YMCA will speak about the “Silver Sneakers” program and other classes that are available through the YMCA. The community service collections will benefit YWCA Young Women With Bright Futures program. Grilled chicken salad or the buffet lunch, which includes Newport chicken, will be served.
