Prison photo art exhibit

An exhibition of photographs by Eric Kunsman is on display at Arts & Education at the Hoyt through Oct. 31. Titled “Titled Thou art… Will Give” after an inscription on a prison wall. The collection captures the history of the Eastern State Penitentiary in Pennsylvania, once the most famous and expensive prisons in the world. A piece from the exhibit is shown above. Kunsman studied the warden’s logbooks to bring to life the inmates and programs at the prison for his show. He will share his experiences building the exhibition with a gallery talk at the public reception at 2:30 p.m. Saturday. For information, go to hoytartcenter.org.
