The Evanses celebrate 50th anniversary

David and Linda Evans of Youngstown recently celebrated their golden anniversary during a family dinner at the Springfield Grille in Boardman.
Mr. Evans married the former Linda Morgan on Aug. 9, 1969, at Brownlee Woods Presbyterian Church in Youngstown.
The couple are graduates of Woodrow Wilson High School and of Youngstown State University, where they also earned master’s degrees in English. Mrs. Evans taught ninth- and tenth-grade English in the Jackson-Milton Local School District, where her husband taught English and Spanish. The couple traveled through the United States, Canada and Mexico, and vacationed several times in Spain, England, France and Italy.
The Evanses are members of Heritage Presbyterian Church where Mrs. Evans is a choir member and serves on various church committees.
After retiring in 1997, Mr. Evans volunteered for Habitat for Humanity at the Struthers ReStore and taught English to foreign students at Beatitude House.
