Brookfield’s Larry Smoot is named Coach of the Year

BROOKFIELD

The Ohio State Golf Coaches Association has named Brookfield High School’s Larry Smoot as the 2019 Golf Coach of the Year. Smoot led the Warriors’ boys golf team to an undefeated 14-0 record during the 2018 season, winning an All-American Conference Blue Division championship. In the state tournament, the Warriors set a school record (291) in winning the sectional. The Warriors also won the district championship and finished as Ohio High School Athletic Association’s Division III state runner-up. Three Brookfield golfers were selected as first team All-State.
