The Canfield library invited adults and teens to create their own rainbow wall hanging on June 24. With the help of Adult Librarian Assistant Taylor Swan, participants created a stylish art piece for their home.

Swan precut several red, blue, green, yellow and orange pieces of yarn for the wall hangings, but said participants were free to create their wall hanging any way they liked.

“I did precut pieces of yarn in the usual rainbow colors, but participants are welcome to cut any color and any amount of pieces they would like to create their wall hanging. The can put their own spin and own touch on it and do whatever they like. We have a lot of creative people here,” Swan said.

Swan said she tries to mix up the craft programs each month.

“I try to mix it up each month. This month I wanted to do something colorful that said spring into summer. Last month, we did tassel bookmarks and in July, we are going to hand embroider electronic pouches for phones or tablets. It’s a fun time and I am excited for the rest of the programs this summer,” Swan said.
