Society to host walking tour

The Trumbull County Historical Society will host a walking tour at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Old Stone House Bed and Breakfast, 8505 state Route 534.

All Second Saturday walking tours operate on a pay-as-you-can donation and are approximately one hour in length.

Marketplace to be part of Yard Sale Trail

WILMINGTON, PA.

Fresh Marketplace, 129 Chestnut St., will participate in the state Route 208 Yard Sale Trail from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

The event will feature yard sale vendors, a morning concert by ReIssue at 10, a children’s activity table, yoga, fresh foods from the Marketplace Grill, Haitian Sensation and Kitty’s Crepes. For information, visit nwfreshmarketplace.org.

Palooza set for Saturday

SALEM

Salem Memorial Building and Salem Public Library will host the “Out of this World Palooza!” from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the library and memorial building, 821 and 785 E. State St., respectively.

The event will include visits from Toy Story characters Buzz and Woody, a scavenger hunt, water bottle rockets, a super-soaker alien race, do-it-yourself crafts, refreshments and more. No registration is required. The event is free.

Church will host BTS shoes giveaway

HUBBARD

Chestnut Ridge Church of God, 7215 Chestnut Ridge Road, will distribute free, new tennis shoes to school age children from kindergarten through grade 12, from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday and from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday. Students must be residents of/or attending school in Hubbard, Masury, Brookfield, Liberty, Girard, Sharon, Hermitage, Farrell or West Middlesex. Available sizes will be children’s 101/2 through adult size 12, boys and girls. Children must come with a parent or legal guardian and provide proof of residency. For information, call 330-534-0084.

Lodge awards scholarships

Victoria Messuri, 2019 Canfield High School graduate, was selected by the Canfield Odd Fellows Lodge to be a recipient of its 2019 scholarship.

The lodge also is awarding a scholarship to a 2019 Columbiana High School graduate, Olivia Morgan. These scholarships are given in keeping with one of the lodge’s goals: to educate the orphan. Both students have lost a parent, maintained excellect grades and plan to attend Youngstown State University.

Club to host open house Aug. 17

WARREN

The Riverside Railroad Club will host an open house from noon to 4 p.m. Aug. 17 in the basement of the YWCA Warren Center, 375 N. Park Ave. There is an elevator available.

G-scale trains make their way through a detailed city constructed by members. Donation of $3 is requested and free for children age 12 and younger.

Beatitude House requests donations

YOUNGSTOWN

The Beatitude House is asking the community to donate school supplies now through Friday at the administration building at 238 Tod Lane for the fast approaching 2019-20 school year. Donations will be accepted from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Traditional supplies are needed, but some specific items needed are as follows: one-inch binders, flash drives, plastic folders, three and five subject notebooks, note cards, book covers, pencil boxes, pens, colored pencils, highlighters, red pencils, mechanical pencils, big block erasers, calculators, hand sanitizer, paper towels, sandwich and large baggies, sanitizing wipes, dry erase markers, wide-ruled and college ruled notebooks or loose leaf paper.

Gift cards to Target or Walmart also are appreciated.
