Playhouse sets auditions for ‘Art’ tonight and Tuesday

YOUNGSTOWN — Auditions for the Youngstown Playhouse’s production of “Art” will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. today and Tuesday at the theater, which is off Glenwood Avenue. Callbacks, if necessary, will be Wednesday.

“Art” is being directed by Frank Martin. All roles are open. The cast calls for two women and one man: Simone, age 35-50; Marion, age 35-50; and Yvan: age 30-40.

Rehearsals begin Aug. 12. Performances will be in the Moyer Room from Sept. 27-Oct. 6.

Written by Yasmina Reza, “Art” is the winner of two Moliere Awards and a Tony Award. It tells the story of three friends, one of whom purchases an expensive piece of art which prompts divided opinions within the group and becomes a source of conflict.
